It can be easy to take for granted just how incredible the biodiversity of the Rio Grande Valley is. Just in this four-county region, there are over 1,200 species of plants, 4,000+ insect species, over 525 species of birds, along with frogs, lizards, fish, mammals, and other wildlife.
One of the best ways to learn about and appreciate these organisms is to learn their names, and iNaturalist is a fantastic resource to help do that. Join our Urban Ecologist, John Brush, for an informative workshop on how to use this powerful tool to get to know your non-human neighbors in the RGV.
The workshop is offered on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9:30 - 11:30 AM. Program included with park admission. It also includes information on how to participate in this year's City Nature Challenge!
