Don’t miss this exhibit, closing January 5, 2025! The 4th Annual Members’ Juried Art Show (MJAS) is a vibrant celebration of creativity and community, this year with the support of the Rotary Club of Edinburg. This annual exhibition for IMAS Members showcases the incredible talent and diversity of local artists and provides a creative outlet for our artist community. Each year the museum presents this as an open call that draws a wide array of styles, media, and perspectives, brought together under one roof to reflect the community’s dynamic creative spirit. This year’s show was juried by Jon Joanis, a Canadian artist and musician with a diverse background in fine arts, design, and jazz performance. Joanis has studied under renowned artists, represented Canada in a UNESCO exhibition in Paris, and worked as a designer and special effects artist in Montreal and Los Angeles. His deep connection to drawing and painting continues to inspire his creative journey. The Members’ Juried Art Show recognized outstanding talent with awards presented to the following artists: Robert Mirza received Best in Show for his piece “The Boxer.” Ken Foltz earned second place for “Lamentation Before the First Morning Ciggy (Nude in Wire Chair),” and Alan Hollander won third place with “Borrowed Shadow.” Honorable mentions were awarded to Jacqueline Garza for “La lucha de la mujer,” Ninnette Palomo for “Manifest Migration II,” and Luis Zuniga for “Hen After Rain.”
