Something new and wonderful is coming to the IMAS thanks to heb Tournament of Champions! As the recipient of an H-E-B Tournament of Champions grant, IMAS had the extreme pleasure of hosting a team of H-E-B partners for a project build of the Supermercado / Market and museum beautification. IMAS is extremely grateful for the incredible partners at heb and our Border Region that teamed up with IMAS staff, trustees, exhibit designers from Sietecolores, and volunteers from the McAllen Butterfly Center. Project build day was a success! The Tournament of Champions grant project enabled the renovation and upgrade of the existing Seed to Table exhibit into a newly transformed space that will engage children in creative play. This exhibit encourages intergenerational play by including surprised and activities for adults and children to discover together, including surprise artwork, planning, categorizing, organizing, and applying mathematical thinking. The original exhibit, Seed to Table, engaged well over 300,000 children during its life and this new exhibit is opening to the public on July 1 for more play and engagement from our youngest visitors! IMAS members will get a special preview on Friday, June 26, at Summer Member's Night before its grand opening. #ExploreIMAS #HEBTOC #McAllenTX #IMASartist

This is more than play, it’s where learning comes to life. Coming to the IMAS this July! https://theimasonline.org/supermercado-market/" target="_blank">https://theimasonline.org/supermercado-market/ #exploreimas Step into Supermercado / Market, an interactive role-play experience where children and families explore the world of food, shopping, and community together. In this hands-on environment, young visitors become shoppers, cashiers, and stockers as they navigate a vibrant market setting filled with surprises and embedded artwork. Designed to foster early childhood development, this exhibit encourages critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills through imaginative play, from planning shopping lists to solving basic math challenges at the checkout. heb #HEBTOC Supported by H-E-B Tournament of Champions
