#TBT to February 2025, when the first phase of prepping for the Tiny Forest @ Main Library got underway. Before the planting day excitement, there was a lot of behind the scenes work happening. Measuring, planning, clearing, and getting the space ready to grow into something special. It’s been really meaningful to watch this little forest take shape over time, right here at McAllen Public Library. If you’ve walked by recently, you’ve seen how far it’s come. More growth ahead. 🌱

If you’ve taken a stroll around Main Library lately, you’ve probably noticed the updated designs & guideposts inspired by the 10 subject areas of the Dewey Decimal System. It’s one of those features that invites you to slow down, wander, and maybe learn something new along the way. Bonus points if you spot Marty the Library Cat, who likes to hide out in different spots along the trail. If it’s been a while, this is your sign to take a walk around Main Library and revisit a favorite little corner of the building.
