Don’t miss Suzanne Shepard during #STBF Presents: Read Around Town Week at Lark Branch Library (2601 Lark Ave.) on Tuesday, October 21 at 11AM. Inspired by the real giraffe at Gladys Porter Zoo, her books "Rocket the Space Giraffe" and "Wish Upon a Star" take young readers on imaginative journeys filled with discovery, friendship, and dreams that reach for the stars.

Luis Jaramillo, author of "The Witches of El Paso" and the award-winning short story collection "The Doctor’s Wife," will be joining us at this year’s South Texas Book Festival!

📚 #STBF Author Session: The Prince of Stars
Author M.O. Yuksel will be at the South Texas Book Festival for “The Prince of Stars: Storytime” at Main Library (4001 N. 23rd St.) on Saturday, October 25 at 3:30PM, followed by a book signing.
In “The Prince of Stars,” Yuksel shares the inspiring story of Ulugh Beg, a young boy whose love of the night sky led him to build one of the world’s greatest observatories. Through beautiful storytelling and illustrations, this session shows how wonder and determination can spark discovery in every child.

There's still a chance to donate to MPL’s Teen Advisory Committee Pet Donation Drive to support animals in need. Donations of kibble, toys, or cozy blankets will go a long way in helping pets as they wait for their forever homes. This drive is part of our #STBF Presents: Pet Week at the Library and will continue through Friday, October 17.

Cartoonist Gabriela Epstein is a New York Times bestselling illustrator known for her work on "The Baby-Sitters Club" graphic novels, the award-winning bilingual book "Invisible," and the creative force behind "Danny Phantom: Fair Game," the brand-new graphic novel continuing the hit Nickelodeon series.
Catch her at “Danny Phantom: Sketch & Tell” during the South Texas Book Festival on Saturday, October 25 at 3:30PM at Main Library. She’ll take fans behind the scenes of her creative process, share stories from her journey as an artist, and do some live drawing of your favorite ghost-fighting teen hero.
