Today was an excellent day, not so hot, to be out on the trails birding. ✨🌳On our Birding for Beginners Bird Tour, the highlight was everything seen, but the hatch year birds following their parents did steal the show. 😃We had Black-crested Titmouse and Green Jay parents showing their babies the way of being a bird. From hoping on the trees to foraging for food, it was a treat to see this stage of their life. Sally has whole heartedly embraced giving back to the community by volunteering in numerous gala committees and boards in the past 25 years. She is an alum of Leadership McAllen Class XXIV, Leadership Mission Class XIII and Leadership RGV Partnership Class IX. She is currently President of the American Advertising Federation of the RGV, and serves on the following boards: Valley Symphony Orchestra, Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center, SPI Birding Nature and Alligator Sanctuary, SPI Sea Turtle Foundation, RGV Partnership and the Palm Awards. Sally was the McAllen Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman of the Board in 2020-2021. She was awarded the 2019 RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Businesswoman of the Year and the 2021 McAllen Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year, to name a few.
