Voces del Arte Popular: IMAS Mexican Folk Art Collection March 8, 2026 – September 27, 2026 For the past two years IMAS has undertaken research in our Mexican and Latin American Folk Art Collection in partnership with University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and other distinguished scholars and curators which has expanded accessibility to the collection and has examined the collection through an anthropological lens of materiality, cultural continuity, and community. Voces del Arte Popular: IMAS Mexican Folk Art Collection will present pieces from different regions of Mexico to educate the community about the symbols and icons that are important to the identity of communities in Mexico and the United States.This exhibit is supported by Texas Commission on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, and a grant from an anonymous donor.
