McAllen Farmers Market is partnering with the Sustainable Food Center to offer Double Up Fresh Bucks / Dólares Frescos beginning November 22. This temporary program is designed to support families who are experiencing an interruption in their SNAP benefits by helping them access fresh, locally grown food while also supporting local farmers. Eligible community members can receive up to ten dollars per day in market scrip to purchase any food or drink item at participating farmers markets. This includes fresh fruits and vegetables, proteins, prepared meals, and beverages. Double Up Fresh Bucks are available while supplies last and are valid through December 31, 2025.
