La gente unida jamás irá sin comida 💚💚
On behalf of the No Kings Alliance, a group of McAllen locals has come together to organize a Mass Mutual Aid event in support of our community.
Join us in demonstrating civic unity and solidarity on
Saturday, November 15, at Ante Books — located at 1713 W. Hackberry Ave, Suite B, McAllen, TX.
3PM-6PM
Donations can be dropped off Weds-Saturday 12-6PM for a 25% off all purchases. 🫶
This event is part of a nationwide effort to support families and federal workers affected by the ongoing government shutdown. Our mission is simple: to provide tangible aid while strengthening civic unity and awareness across our community.
All food donations can be dropped off directly at Ante Books from 3pm-6pm on Nov 15th. While you’re there, we invite you to explore the shop, browse the shelves, and connect with others taking part in this movement for care and solidarity.
During the event, we’ll also be sharing information on:
-How to contact your local, state, and federal representatives -What to say when advocating for relief and accountability during the shutdown -Knowing your rights as a citizen and voter -Civic education materials to help strengthen our collective voice -Come by, bring a donation, stay for a conversation — and help us keep -democracy rooted in community action. ✊
If you or someone you know is seeking aid or affected by the shutdown, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact me directly to diana.morales91@gmail.com for guidance and resources on how to access support. We’re here to help — no one in our community should face hardship alone.
