McAllen Chamber of Commerce
The McAllen Chamber of Commerce & McAllen Economic Development Corporation board retreat was an opportunity to ground our workforce development strategy in real data and real progress. From expanding apprenticeships in manufacturing and healthcare to launching programs that upskill underemployed professionals into certified teachers, MEDC is responding directly to the needs of our region. TWC Commissioner Albert Treviño’s remarks underscored the importance of state and local alignment, and we’re proud to be leveraging Texas Workforce Commission tools like skills grants and industry partnerships, to build a more resilient, opportunity-rich economy here in McAllen. Thanks to the City of McAllen TX Government City Manager Isaac J. Tawil for participating.
McAllen Chamber of Commerce
On Friday, we didn’t just meet; we aligned. For the first time, the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and McAllen Economic Development Corporation boards came together as one team, guided by Texas’ winning model: competitiveness, infrastructure, talent. Insights from Larry McManus (Office of the Governor), Erika Boyd (Texas Travel Alliance), and Commissioner Albert Treviño (Texas Workforce Commission) lit the path. City of McAllen TX Government City Manager Isaac Tawil grounded us in the City’s focus so both boards move in lockstep.
