Young Adventurers will enjoy: • Bug-themed story time • An up-close insect talk in the MPU Biozone Lab • Outdoor fun with a bug catcher kit • A take-home craft Session times: 10:00–11:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. These hands-on STEAM workshops are led by IMAS Educators and are completely free, thanks to the support of PNC. The concert will feature the new composed piece by Rondo on Space and Time by composer J. Todd Frazier, accompanied by stunning live visuals from photographer Mark Chen, artist of "Pilgrimage of Light" exhibition, whose work explores the connection between the cosmos, Earth, and humanity. Cochineal Pigment Painting Saturday, December 13, 2025 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. $25 | $20 IMAS Members https://sales.theimasonline.org/PatronEducation.aspx?pid=2210 Learn about the cochineal insect and the carmine pigment that has been used throughout history to create art from the Renaissance to Indigenous textiles and more. Participants will use cochineal insects to make their own paint pigment and experiment with other organic materials to create different colors as they fabricate their Insecta-inspired work of art. This workshop includes a tour of the Insecta: Small Wonders exhibit by Gabriel Rodriguez. Museum admission included with workshop registration. Advanced registration is encouraged due to limited capacity.
