Event Info

The City Nature Challenge is international event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their own cities. Since 2018, the Rio Grande Valley has participated in the City Nature Challenge, with people contributing over 64,000 observations of more than 4,000 species of plants and animals.

We encourage you to visit your local city park, hike-and-bike trail, state park, national wildlife refuge, or just explore your yard! Find places near you to explore by visiting:

How to Participate:
- Photograph plants and animals in the RGV from April 25 - 28
- Add your observations to iNaturalist by May 4
