Hummingbirds are predominantly nectar-feeding birds using their needle-like bills to reach hidden from view nectar.😎 Recently, it has been shown that hummingbird tongues also have a mechanism called “fluid trapping” that complements capillary action. 😯But hummingbirds don’t only drink nectar, they are also known to eat small insects and spiders.🕷 Want to learn more about hummingbirds, especially those in the Rio Grande Valley? Join Urban Ecologist, John Brush this Thursday! ✨Thursday September 17th 🌺6:00pm - 7:00pm 🌳Included with General Admission #quintamazatlan #hummingbirdsinthergv #exploremcallen
