Its hard to imagine exactly what the Rio Grande Valley used to look like. For example, we can't know specifically what the habitats at Quinta Mazatlan looked like before Spanish colonization. But we do have some idea of what things looked like in the region, based on early accounts from explorers, botanists, other records. If you want to learn more of what we do know about the RGV's ecological past, join us on Thursday, October 2nd, for an enlightening presentation by Javier de León, Park Superintendent of Estero Llano Grande State Park. Program is from 6pm - 7pm. Attendees can receive a FREE native plant, as supplies last!
