Get ready to rally the Rebels and head back to McAllen Public Library for our 10th Annual Amnesty Month, running April 1–May 4, right in time for Star Wars Day. Return any overdue items to any MPL location—no matter how late—and we’ll remove the fines. This only applies to materials currently checked out, so bring those books, DVDs, CDs, and Blu-rays back to the library. All month long, enjoy Star Wars-themed photo ops at Main Library, and don’t miss our family-friendly celebration on Sunday, May 4th from 2–5 PM, featuring activities and favorite characters from the galaxy.

Sights from Quinta Mazatlan today. Staff gave a garden design workshop to help participants learn tools and get ideas for how they can add water-conserving and biodiversity-supporting plants to their spaces. Many plants are in bloom, with bright and beautiful insects visiting them. Among those insects were Spotted Woolcarder bees, (Anthidium maculosum), which potentially haven't been seen in the RGV since the 1940s, prior to being seen at the National Butterfly Center, a private residence, and now at Quinta Mazatlan this year.
