Did You Know?- The stinking passionflower has sticky hairs on special leaf-like parts called bracts that can trap tiny insects. These hairs release juices with digestive chemicals that break the insects down. The plant might absorb some of the nutrients, even though it does not fully digest or depend on insects for food. Because of this, scientists call it protocarnivorous meaning it shows early signs of being a meat-eating plant. Learn more about this passionate vine at Saturday STEM Stops✨💜 #STEM #FindYourPark #naturebasedlearning #southtexasecology #mcallenevents
