Learn about the butterflies of the region and how to attract them to your yard! Butterflies have an astonishing variety of colors and shapes, often coming with wacky names! There are leafwings and satyrs, hairstreaks and sisters, metalmarks and skippers, and many more. Butterflies are popular representatives of nature’s beauty, often symbolizing rebirth. Did you know there are over 300 species of butterfly found in the Valley? Many of them only lay their eggs on a few species of plants! This session, participants will be introduced to the variety of butterflies found in the region, along with ideas on how to attract them to your yard.
